SUPER HEROES

Imagine a team of upstanding and distinguished men who have done impossible and/or improbable things.

Things like sleeping in the mist of starving lions and coming out unscathed, or walking around unharmed in the mist of super heated fire, or even interpreting dreams before they hear them.

This is all in the book of Daniel in the OT.  Daniel being one of them, along with 3 others did extraordinary things that people had no choice but to notice.  Some rewarded them and some hated them for it.

Do we have heroes like this today?  Who's main superpower/ability is to commit to and trust the Lord in all circumstance?

To Drink or not to drink? Pt 1

Listen to wisdom about the effects of alcohol.

I personally don't wish to push religion; only wisdom?  When dealing with all types of substances, I have choosen a life of personal prohibition.

I have engaged many people in the past about why they shouldn't drink and I find it odd at the level of passion they display on the freedom they have to drink.

To me its not so much the fact that people drink, but the fact they feel they need to drink.   The fact they depend so much on it.

Logic tells me that I should not smoke crack because of the destruction it has caused to lives.  Many feel the same about crack, yet because alchohol is a quiet destroyer; we don't see the logic of abstaining.  Or is it because people feel they need it so much?

What do you do more habitually: STUDY YOUR BIBLE, OR DRINK?

TRUTH RELIEVES FRUSTRATION

Frustration is normal in most lives, but this does not make it necessary for living.  The main issues is that we often press so hard against God's will trying to do what WE want, but not what HE wants.

We even get upset when things don't happen on our time table.

Often we forget how the pressure and stress of life is designed to make us stronger, sometimes we forget that God is the one ordering our steps.  Many verses come to mind as I write, but one sparked this post.

II Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; (KJ2000 - sent from CadreBible)

THE LONG RUN FOCUS

It's sad that we too often focus on the moment and forget tomorrow; even worse, we focus on today and forget about ETERNITY.

Listen to Francis Chan break it down.

What is sin?

Everyone is a sinner from birth, but what separates the heaven bound from the hell bound?

1 John 3:4-8 NASB

Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

Sin is not just murder, rape, robbery, etc. Sin is failing to do the things we should and doing those things that we should not. Sin is a break in fellowship with God.
Ask yourself are you practicing sin?
